“And — above all — to be one of those who have faith and urge each other to persevere and urge each other to compassionate love.” [90:17]

Our Vision

Marhama is a welcoming, family-centered community focused on building sustainable institutions through empowering service, prophetic spirituality, traditional knowledge, and the arts.

We're committed to cultivating joyful, indigenously rooted holistic practices of faith whilst also honoring longstanding global traditions. Utilizing our rich civilizational heritage, we seek to translate the timeless truths of Islam to a socially relevant reality that ultimately benefits all of humanity.

Our Pillars

SERVICE (khidma): For the Planet, the Prophet , and the underserved, based on the timeless principles of futuwwa and benefitting friends of other faiths.

FELLOWSHIP (suhba): Cultivating joyful and compassionate community around the sacred calendar.

KNOWLEDGE (‘ilm): Applying traditional knowledge to contemporary challenges online and in-person.

Our Projects

African American Healing Ancestry & Development (AHAD): The AHAD Collective is a Black Muslim led anti-slavery organization established to promote a holistic, spiritual, peaceful, and joyous practice of Islam dedicated to sacred service and justice for all. Join us @ahad.collective.

4 Nations Unite!: Indigenous and Muslim peoples healing hearts, communities, and our planet through building spiritually-rooted relationships with our human and non-human relatives on Turtle Island.

Our Logo

The Marhama logo represents a synthesis of Indigenous American and traditional Muslim symbols. The two ‘waws’, sacred Arabic letters, face each other to highlight the importance of reflection and receptivity for one's spiritual growth. The four colors on the outer ring represent the four elements, the four temperaments, the four cardinal directions, the four seasons, and the four nations of the human family.
